Your data stays on your device. Papers, tables, bibliographies and contents pages are processed in your browser and never uploaded. The only exception is the Citation Generator, which sends the link or DOI you enter to public lookup services (such as Crossref) to find its details. A saved bibliography draft and your diagram are kept in this browser only: if you clear your browser data or cache, use a private window, or open the app in a different browser or on another device, they will not be there. How the list is formatted
This formatter applies reference-list structure rules: entries are sorted by first author surname, rendered as double-spaced lines, and displayed with hanging indents suitable for manuscript references.

Indented lines become sub-levels. Dot leaders, tabs or a trailing number all work, and so do numbered outlines (1, 1.1, 1.1.1).
2. Entries
Level 1 = main sections. Levels 2 to 5 indent 0.5 inch each, matching APA heading levels.
3. Layout
Only use this if you will paste the page into a paper that uses Word's Heading 1 to 3 styles. When you right-click it in Word and choose Update Field, Word rebuilds the entries from those headings, and an empty document would give an empty list.
